Research and Writing in Counseling
Identifying and evaluating research is a key component of the discipline of psychology. For this discussion you will use the Capella library to find one current peer-reviewed research article about a particular topic and discuss the implications of the research. Choose a counseling topic of your choice, and use the Article Analysis Worksheet in the Resources section to write a brief critique of the article.
You do not need to attach the actual worksheet. Instead, please use it as a guide to structure your post, which should be no longer than 3 paragraphs. Sample topics include the role of therapeutic factors in evidence-based treatment, psychotherapy outcome research, the effects of cultural competency and diversity training, the benefits of recognizing the mind-body connection, and the efficacy of brief therapy (does it work?).
