After reading your post, I am left with many questions. In your post, you state that your research method will be qualitative but I did not see a specific design mentioned. Can you be more specific? You also mention that you want the research to be objective, yet qualitative studies are subjective, whereas quantitative methods are objective. Based upon your statement that you want to glean the perceptions of the participants, a qualitative study does make sense. However, you also state you want to conduct an experimental study which is primarily a quantitative technique. If you are going to conduct experiments on people with multiple sclerosis, do you have the medical background or credentials to perform that type of research? How will you measure the medical benefits in this case? Do you have access to medical equipment to measure whether improvements occurred? And, what symptom(s) of multiple sclerosis are you hoping to target in your research? Your post goes on to identify an independent and dependent variable and hypotheses, which are indicative of a quantitative study. So, given the conflicting information within your post I am uncertain of the research method or design of your study.
However, I did read the article you referred to in your post by Motl, Learmonth, Pilutti, Gappmaier, and Coote (2015). Within the article, the authors presented ten research questions that have not been definitively answered in multiple sclerosis literature, which you have copied or adapted for your study. In addition, they discuss research that has attempted to answer these questions and they point out that the majority of articles included in the analysis produced conflicting results. Within this article is reference to a study that has already examined the benefits of aquatic exercise for patients with multiple sclerosis. By chance, have you read that article? Can you establish that you have found a gap in the literature for your proposed study?
