This task involves the development of a research proposal for a project that would be the equivalent in scope and scale of aminor thesis (see task 3) and should be practitioner focused (unless otherwise negotiated with your lecturer). The proposal in AED5001 is designed to meet the learning outcomes for this unit i.e. demonstrate that the student understands the key aspect/ concepts / skills involved in developing and undertaking a research project.
Relevant literature should be referred to and used throughout each section of the proposal to justify and exemplify your chosen approach. A template will be provided for this assessment, however, the main sections will include: A title and introduction (overview and background or context for the study; ? A referenced rationale for the study, in which appropriate literature is used to build the case for the research. The rationale ?will culminate in the research aims and research problem/question(s). (If you have not changed topics this will probably ?be an extended and reconfigured version of assessment 1, taking into account the lecturer’s feedback); ? An explanation for choice of paradigm; methodology and research methods adopted, including reference to appropriate ?literature related to research methodology (the core part of the task); ? An explanation of the research design that will be adopted to answer/explore the research inquiry/questions; ? A detailed discussion of data collection procedures (including details about the participant groups and selection if ?relevant); ? An indication of how considerations such as reliability, validity or trustworthiness will be addressed; ? A detailed discussion of data analysis and reporting; ? A discussion of ethical issues that may be relevant and how they will be managed; ? A critically reflective statement; ? A reference list. ?Assessment Criteria? This task will be assessed against the following criteria: ?Introduction (5 marks)?
