The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires five or more instructional hours outside of the classroom for each course. In order to meet this PDE requirement, students must complete the following activity outside of the classroom. For the PDE assignment, students will watch one of two videos (both available on Blackboard). The videos are documentaries about Dissociative Identity Disorder and Anorexia. After watching the video (approx. 1.5 hours), students will write a 5-7 page paper (APA style, see Blackboard for APA style assistance) discussing the video by addressing the following: 1. Demonstrate understanding of the disorder in the video, 2. Research and describe at least one treatment option for that disorder (scholarly sources only) and 3. Personal reflections from the video and research. In total, this assignment should take 10 hours. More detailed instructions will be reviewed in class.
