It is extremely important that your presentation is clear and the necessary information you worked hard to obtain is conveyed during your presentation. Examining your own nervous mannerisms, we will discover ways to help overcome them.

Instructions:

Choose a nervous mannerism to avoid from Section 14.4 of the text. In this 1- to 2 page paper, choose a mannerism you feel as though you struggle with the most in public speaking or presentation scenarios.

For example, you may have a tendency to say “um” too often in your talk. Write about how effective your talk would be if you eliminate “um.” What are some strategies we have learned that may help you overcome your nervous mannerism?

You may refer to our text or watch the video on effective presentations.

This paper should highlight what you feel you could do better. If you have to, read an older homework assignment aloud into a recording device or in front of a mirror and listen for some of the nervous mannerisms if you are not aware of any.
